SFSP open sites to begin operations on July 1. Summer Food Service Program offers free lunches to children 18 years old and younger between 11am and 12 noon Monday through Fridays except holidays while supplies last. Meal volume will be adjusted weekly based on demand at each site.
SFSP lunches are not grab and go meals so parents cannot show ID and take lunches away from the sites. Children must be on site to take their own lunches and each child is allowed only one lunch per day. All lunches follow USDA Summer Meals guidelines which requires fruit, whole grains, proteins, and vegetables. The bi-weekly menu includes spaghetti, pizza, cheesburger, BBQ chicken and beef pepper steak.
