Our Mission
The mission of the Mathematics Department is to maximize and innovate teaching and learning for students to be competent users of mathematics for real world applications.
The department is focused on providing the students with support on the implementation of quality instructions in Mathematics, which should contribute to the development of the students’ improved skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, digital readiness, and lifelong learning.
Our Focus
The focus of teaching and learning mathematics is to enable students to:
- be proficient and confident in using mathematics in their everyday lives
- use deductive and inductive reasoning when solving mathematical problems
- translate their mathematical curiosities into success
- achieve proficiency and above in mathematics literacy and numeracy
- develop skills and attitudes necessary in the advancement of mathematical applications
- use communication and information technology in mathematics
- develop abstract and logical reasoning to reflect on their work in mathematics
